Aldo Pellegrini (1903-1973) was a poet, playwright, essayist, and art critic with noteworthy reputation in Argentine culture. He was connected from the start to the development of Surrealism, and directed several editorial projects. Pellegrini also supported and contributed to the diffusion of different currents of Abstract art, by encouraging some groups like Artistas Modernos de la Argentina [Modern Artists of Argentina) and the Asociación Arte Nuevo [New Art Association].The Surrealist magazine A partir de cero (Starting with zero) under the direction of Enrique Molina (1910-1997), included collaborations from Carlos Latorre (1916-1980), Julio Llinás (1929), Francisco Madariaga (1927-2000), Juan Antonio Vasco (1924-1984), and Aldo Pellegrini. In the beginning, three issues were published: November 1952, December 1952 and December 1954. This publication went through a second stage in 1956.Antonin Artaud (1896-1948) was a French poet, essayist, playwright, and art critic, who connected with André Breton around 1924, and was part of the Surrealist group. His poetry and dramatic output explores subjectivity, defends individual freedom, and rejects dogmatic positions. This source was chosen because it proves how important Artaud's ideas were to Pellegrini, since Artaud carried the concepts of Surrealism to their maximum expression.
