The organizers of this edition of the Salão included, among others, the artists Mário Zanini and Renina Katz, both of whom were also members of the jury for the painting category. Katz was also responsible for the decorative arts category. Jurors for the sculpture and architecture sections at this sixth edition were people who never enjoyed much national recognition, either at the time of the exhibition or later. Several of the contributing painters had participated in previous editions of the Salão, such as Frans Krajcberg, Manabu Mabe and other members of the Japanese community (Ohtake, Yazima, and Okinaka). Sérvulo Esmeraldo—who made a name for himself in the following decade with his Kinetic works driven by electromagnets and gravity—exhibited his woodcut prints. In the architecture category, Paulo Mendes (da) Rocha’s team presented the project and program for the Casa do estudante mackenzista. The list of participating painters who, over the course of time, would see their works become part of the Adolpho Leirner Collection, includes Anatol Wladyslaw, Maria Leontina (the Enigmas Series), Leopoldo Raimo (Estructura), Lothar Charoux (drawing), Willys de Castro (numbered paintings), and Franz Weissmann (who submitted two geometric sculptures). The flier provides an updated list of prizewinning artists at the five previous editions of the Salão.
